Insurance Assessments

There are currently four companies that offer Motorcycle insurance in Ireland, and two of those offer discounts to riders who take additional training.

Aon Insurance and Quinn Direct offer Skills Assessments which are aimed at reducing your insurance and enabling you to learn skills that may keep you safe on the road.

Before you purchase a motorcycle, check what group it is with your insurance company, and if you are on a provisional or have a restricted licence make sure the machine you purchase is Factory restricted. After market restrictors may not be acceptable.

The duration of the assessment is dependent on your current level of ability and the grade you need to achieve. A grade 2 is normally a full day but may take longer. Your instructor should be able to give you an idea after the initial ride out.
