Ok, so you've got the letter with your bike test date on it. It's vital to get good training well in advance. It has been known that only a couple of weeks warning has been given prior to your test date. Not a lot of time to practice and fine tune your riding! It's a good idea to book yourself a half days pre test assessment soon after you apply for your test so you can practice and give yourself the best chance of passing first time.
The pre test course will cover all the new bike test changes that came into effect in February 2004. The course will cover an assessment of your current skills, debrief and chat about areas that need work, a short ride behind the instructor to help you understand what the examiner wants to see and then instruction and direction for the remaining time.
If you are using the school bike, regular lessons are advisable up to and including the day of your test.
